Areola reduction is performed under local anaesthesia in approximately one hour. Using precision incisions and layered stitching, Dr. Tillo reshapes the areola to your ideal proportions.
Aftercare and Recovery
Most patients return to work within 1–2 days and resume exercise in two weeks. Bruising and swelling typically subside within six weeks, with scars fading over time. Although not typically required, we include free of charge scar treatments as part of your aftercare for your peace of mind.
Final Results
You’ll see immediate changes once the dressings are removed, with final results developing over 6–12 weeks as swelling resolves and tissue heals.

What is recovery like?

Do I need to pause hormone therapy?
Patients do not need to stop hormone treatment for the purposes of gender-affirming treatment before surgery. This will be reviewed individually during your assessment.
Is there a BMI limit?
There is no fixed cut-off, but weight and overall health are important considerations for surgical safety. Dr. Tillo will evaluate this as part of your consultation.
